Bunu Dhungana (1981) is a Kathmandu-based artist working with photography, film, text, and curation. Her work engages with personal, familial, and social realms, questioning notions of gender and patriarchy and how these forces shape women's lives. Her process is intuitive and driven by a desire to start conversations.
Her work has been exhibited at Photo Kathmandu, Ishara Art Foundation, Chobi Mela, Dali International Photo Exhibition, KunstKasten, Serendipity Arts Festival, and Mannheimer Kunstverein, among others. She was a fellow at The Lakshmi Mittal and Family South Asia Institute, Harvard University, in 2020 and 2021. Bunu holds a master's degree in Sociology.
